During the virtual assessment task, following each illumination of the yellow light, a coin was dispensed. This is an example of Pavlovian conditioning because illumination of the yellow light predicted reward delivery. Therefore, the onset of the yellow light was a conditioned stimulus (a CS+). Because the yellow light predicts reward, it is possible that it could evoke an emotional (motivational) state.
