Research and organizational surveys indicate that employee engagement (EE) in the public sector is significantly lower than in the private sector. Also, surveys suggest that Western European countries score the weakest in EE. In this study, EE was defined as employees’ intellectual, social, and effective engrossment in their work, whereby all employees share the same values, goals, and attitudes towards work. The employees are also attentive and focused on accomplishing their work. Engaged employees also feel optimistic, enthusiastic, and energetic in their work. The current study answered the following research questions:
(a) What is the impact of managerial decision-making on the engagement of employees working in a strategic program of a public-owned company?
(b) What are the levels of engagement of employees working in a strategic program of a public-owned company? It utilized a case study strategy.
