Description
CASE STUDY of an alien/invasive species (Lionfish) and its impact on the aquatic environment (to include impacts to fish and fish populations).
Be sure to answer the following questions:
1) What is the species and why is it considered invasive?
2) What are the specific impacts to fish and aquatic resources?
3) What actions should be taken to control it and why?
4) What are the economic impacts of this invasive species?
5) What did you learn about this topic? Why is what you learned important?
By examining, in detail, these questions, you will gain an appreciation for the ecological concepts and principles that apply to fisheries management; how to assess the habitat requirements of both common and threatened and endangered fisheries resources; how to apply a variety of methods and techniques used to manage fish populations and their habitats; and how analyze the regulations and issues (social, economic, ethical, and ecological) in the management and conservation of fisheries resources.
Case studies should be a minimum of 5 pages in length, not counting the title page or the separate References list, and formatted in APA style.
